Word Games

My roommates and I ran into an acquaintance a few weeks ago. Immediately we noticed the neck brace she was wearing. We asked what happened and she said she’d gone with her neighbor to an amusement park for the neighbor’s birthday. Well apparently the ride was rather jerky and nearly everyone walked off holding their necks or backs. The girl said later she went to the doctor for the whiplash. As he was treating her, he asked what had happened. She didn’t know what the translation was for amusement ride so she said the word for game. The doctor continued treating her, then later asked in the conversation where she danced (and I don’t mean ballet either)……Um excuse me??? Apparently he’d gotten the idea that she hurt her neck dancing exotically in a game. She quickly corrected the misconception!
