Busted

When you get to borrow a vehicle here, it’s like your life completely changes. You rush to do errands, buy heavy groceries, go visit places that are farther than you’d want to take a bus too, or you simply enjoy getting to and from work in 30 minutes as opposed to an hour or longer. It was for this reason that one of my roommates enjoyed the rare opportunity to drive to a different market and quickly get our groceries so the vehicle could be returned within the hour. As she pulled into a parking space she noticed that a woman had her car open and a stroller nearby. As my roommate parked and got out of the car, the woman became irate with her for nearly hitting the stroller (which she’d done her best to maneuver around). It turns out that there was a baby in the stroller. My roommate was glad for once to NOT be able to understand all that was being yelled at her. So she said I don’t understand while preparing to make a quick getaway. Without a pause the irate woman switched to English…….busted. Now if only the language barrier could’ve worked in her favor on that one!
