From London with Love

London is a city I will probably never live in, but love to visit. While I’ve been living overseas I think it’s become even more of this symbol of a place that’s still exotic and new, but enough like home that I can enjoy the ambiance without the stress of not being able to communicate. So of course, for my birthday (45 days and counting ;) I was trying to get a quick weekend away in London. I would see my cousin, get my hair done, do some shopping, and enjoy time away. Well, ticket prices were high, exchange rates were low, and while my heart (and hair) were screaming out GO, reason was saying wait. With reluctance I admitted that it just wouldn’t happen. I think the worst part was knowing that the drama of keeping up with my hair would again begin. Well as chance would have it, one of my friends just happened to have a friend coming to visit her here. Well wouldn’t you know that the lady coming just happened to be black. So the night before she comes, my friend calls me to tell me about her guest, and was there anything I needed her to bring…..um, like a whole entire black beauty store???? Ok, a little more reasonable would be black people shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil. At the last minute I added a PS that some Cadbury Flakes would be nice (a delightful chocolate candy bar made of thinly folded chocolate layers). I honestly didn’t have much hope for anything coming with her because it was so last minute. Sigh, God is so good. I couldn’t get to London so He brought London to me. Here are the goodies I received.

Thank you Rachel!!!!
